The Budapest Urban Mobility Summer School 2025 is an intensive 6-day innovation-driven program designed to empower 35 bachelor students with practical skills in entrepreneurship and creative problem-solving. While rooted in the context of urban mobility and sustainable urban development, the course goes beyond traditional learning by immersing students in a fast-paced, challenge-based environment.
Set in Budapest and its surroundings, participants will engage directly with real-world innovation challenges, collaborate with startups and industry experts, and co-create visionary solutions that push the boundaries of smart cities and future-proof ventures. Through hands-on workshops, site visits, and ideation labs, students will experience the full entrepreneurial journey—from identifying opportunities to pitching impactful solutions.
What does the programe provide?
Engaging and meaningful challenges
Participants will be involved in a one-week challenge-based summer school, where engaging and meaningful challenges are designed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the context of urban mobility. Learning outcomes for each challenge will be carefully determined, and appropriate teaching methods will be selected to create a cohesive and impactful learning experience.
Tailored training Content
The program will feature training content tailored to equip students with essential skills and knowledge in problem analysis, ideation, business modeling, market research, and pitching. Continuous coaching and support will be provided throughout the learning journey, ensuring participants gain valuable insights into innovation and entrepreneurship within urban mobility.
Real-world learning experience
The Challenge-Based Learning Program culminates in a five-day experience where participants work collaboratively in teams, receive feedback from trainers and experts, and present their well-developed business ideas to a panel of judges. Additionally, guest lectures and mentoring opportunities from the city of Tartu and local industry players enrich the participants' understanding with real-world insights and expertise.
Who Can Participate?
The program is open to bachelor students who have completed at least their second year of an undergraduate degree in fields such as engineering, information science, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, geoinformation technology, urban planning, geography, economics, or software engineering.
Application deadline: June 29th
The 5-day training program is free of charge for selected university students, with all costs fully covered.
Selection Process:
Late-June 2025 – First round of applications will be evaluated, and 60 applicants will be contacted to submit their CV and motivation letter.
Early-July 2025 – After the second round of evaluation, final participants will be selected and contacted for transportation and accommodation arrangements.

Kimitisik is a Dutch consultancy and training company in Education Management. Their experienced team of engineers and computer scientists aims to enhance STE(A)M education through coaching on entrepreneurship and complementary skills. We collaborate with international partners to support project implementation and offer CBL courses, hands-on learning, and events to blend proven methodologies with real-life experiences.
