College Advising

Below you will find helpful links and information as your child considers the college admissions process. You will find Admissions To-Do Checklists for each grade, a Life After KMS Document that has information for student-athletes considering competing in college, an Admissions Visit schedule, NCAA Requirement information and much more.

Transcript Requests should be sent to: registrar@killingtonmountainschool.org and should include any special instructions. 

Summer Checklist for Seniors:

1. Brainstorm and begin writing your college essay: Draft #1 is due on Day 1 of English 12. 

2. Ask 1-2 teachers for recommendation letters: Ask in person, then follow up with a written request. Be sure to provide plenty of time, communicate deadlines clearly, and share a detailed activity résumé.

3. Start your activity list: Begin with your main sport, then add up to nine additional activities (jobs, volunteering, leadership roles, clubs, etc.).

4. Explore colleges and build your list: Share your list with Liz C. so she can invite those schools' admissions reps to visit KMS this fall.

5. Register for the SAT: KMS will offer a School Day SAT in early October. For other dates register at www.collegeboard.org.

6. Create your Common App account: Start adding colleges.
