My biggest activity in college. I am the founder of this special interest group that works on research and projects in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
Some of our faculty members from India and abroad have helped us with the work being done here. I lead all the ongoing activities here and have made some very talented acquaintances through this endeavour.
Over a short span of time, this group has delivered 6 research papers and over a dozen AI based projects and is currently working with companies from India and abroad.
DDoS attack protection: Currently in charge of mitigating DDoS attacks on the product of Lavelle Networks through traffic analysis.
CutSplit Algorithm: My first commercial project: I implemented a new packet tuple classification algorithm for performing faster lookups in firewalls.
Varying K-nearest neighbours: An algorithm to improve the working of the k-nearest neighbour model for classification. The paper has been presented and published in Springer SIST. Link
Footballer position predictor: A machine learning project using R to predict the ideal position for a footballer based on attributes and prescribe effort distribution for a new player. Created using self made data-set through web scraping. You can download the dataset here.
Book Chapter: A survey paper on regression techniques published in IGI Global Systems. Link
KIIT University has started a brilliant new initiative called the "Learn from Peers" program where students of first and second year are taught the subjects in their curriculum by their seniors.
To that end I have been selected as one of the Flip Educators for my favourite paper in engineering: Data Structures and Algorithms. I have taught a few students in a short time and have learned more than I taught. The questions that come up, really make me wonder, I write and explain code every time and I learn all the mistakes that a programmer can make. This journey has turned me into an even better coder.
