About the School
KIIT School of Electronics Engineering aims to produce professionals in Electronics Engineering who are equipped for successful careers in industry, higher studies, or entrepreneurial ventures.
Our school offers various programs including B.Tech. in ETC, EEE, ECSc, and VLSI Design & Technology, M.Tech. in Communication System Engineering, VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, and also several industry-based co-branded master's programs such as NextGen Wireless Technology, Automotive Electronics and Software, and Telecommunication System and Management. Additionally, we offer Ph.D. programs in Electronics and allied areas. Many of our programs are accredited by national and international accreditation bodies like the NBA (Washington Accord Tier 1), NAAC (A++), ABET (USA), and IET (UK).
The School of Electronics has over 2000 students, 84 faculty members, and 66 staff members. Most faculty members hold doctorates from prestigious institutions like IITs, NITs, and other renowned universities. Their extensive research experience and industry exposure enrich our academic environment. Throughout the year, we arrange various guest lectures featuring eminent speakers from around the globe.
We have 12 academic labs and 8 dedicated research laboratories. In addition, we have a Project Lab, Design and Thinking Lab, and Centre of Excellence Labs where students can explore and implement their innovative ideas. Notable facilities include a 3D-printing machine, PCB prototyping machine, drones, biomedical instruments like ECG and EEG sensors, DAQs and ELVIS boards from NI, Synopsys chip-design tools, and other modern tools like MATLAB, LabVIEW etc.
Our school focuses on six primary research areas:
VLSI and Embedded Systems
RF and Microwave Engineering
Signal and Image Processing
Communication Engineering
Advanced Instrumentation and Control
Thin Film Photovoltaic Materials and Devices
The School of Electronics Engineering has received prestigious Govt. and Non-Govt. grants, including the DST-FIST project grant of 1.17 Cr, BDTD funding of 1 Cr, and an IC design tool from MEITY, Govt. of India under the Chip to Startup Programme and others.
Since its inception in 1997, the school has excelled in infrastructure. We now have well-equipped academic and research labs, ICT-based hybrid and smart AC classrooms, and a two-floor 24/7 library with access to 12,000 books and journals. Our facilities also include 2 conference halls, 2 lecture theatres, an 800-capacity auditorium, an open-air theatre, and many more.
We offer academic flexibility in curriculum such as choice-based credit system, honours courses, and vocational/product development courses. Our laboratories feature open-ended experiments where students can design their own lab experiments. Each student is assigned a tutor-mentor who can provide assistance and guidance on academic, administrative, and personal issues. Students can contact their mentors for any queries, and there is a school and university-level hierarchy to solve problems.
For additional support, we have a dedicated compliance cell (compliance.electronics@kiit.ac.in), a women's grievance cell, a counselling cell, an alumni cell, and an ICT cell, an Examination cell, and a placement cell.
Beyond academics, our students engage in extracurricular activities through various student-driven societies and cells like the KIIT Robotic Society (KRS), E-labs, NSS/NCC, peer learning, and more.
