Yves Nsengiyumva – Director

Yves is an experienced researcher specializing in socio-economic development initiatives. He possesses expertise in diverse areas such as survey design and execution, focus group facilitation, cross-border trade, market evaluation, and digital payment adoption. Currently, Yves is involved in projects related to affordable housing and informal settlement upgradation in Rwanda.

As the founder of Kigwa consulting, a management consulting firm, Yves has built a reputation for delivering high-quality qualitative and quantitative data. Kigwa takes pride in its esteemed client base, which includes the International Center for Tax and Development (ICTD), the Rwanda Development Bank (BRD), SKAT consulting/Swiss Development Agency, Agence Francaise de Development (AFD), and the Gret. Yves has co-authored publications such as ''Study on the Housing Market and Low cost and Efficient Building Materials and Technologies 2022; "The digital payments as a medium to tax compliance 2023" and "Technology and Tax: Adoption and Impacts of E-services in Rwanda 2023."

Based in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, Yves dedicates his leisure time to advocating for animal rights and promoting veganism, reflecting his commitment to ethical causes.

Mandela Ntwali Fidele – Field supervisor

Mandela is a dynamic field supervisor with over eight years of experience. He led a team of 15 data collectors in Kigwa during the Digital Merchant Payments and Taxpayers studies. He also participated in focus group discussions during the Mpazi and Busanza informal settlements upgrading studies and coordinated the student hostel survey across eight Integrated Polytechnic Regional Colleges as part of the Student Accommodation Feasibility Study.

He enjoys fieldwork, particularly interviewing respondents and supporting his teammates. His dedication has made him a pillar of the Kigwa team.

His previous roles include Hygiene and Sanitation Officer in Ndera Sector (2015–2016) and Counsellor at Gates of Hope Ministries (2017–2019). He holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Rwanda.

Carine Mukeshimana – Coordinator & Gender

Carine is a community engagement expert with extensive experience in Rwanda's informal settlements upgrading. She has conducted numerous focus group discussions, co-moderate dialogues on gender and housing conditions and coordinated surveys across the country. 

Since 2021, she has supported Kigwa on several assignments, including: Tax officials's study (ICTD); Mpazi Satisfaction Study  (SKAT); Student Accommodation Feasibility Study (AFD) and Housing Market Assessment (BRD). 

She holds a bachelors degree from the Kigali Independent University.
