Home Preschool Resources

How to use these resources.

Your entire house is a classroom! Unlike a school-ager that benefits from a set work space, preschoolers can be taught at a table, in their play/ toy area, on the floor, in their bedroom, the kitchen, on the stairs (counting) and even while on a walk.

Before home preschool starts, set resonable expectations.

  • Keep in mind, preschoolers attention span is 6 - 15 minutes, about 3-5 minutes per year of age. Do short lessons throught the day and week.

  • Repition is key to teaching preschoolers and so is varing the presentation methods. Combine worksheets, art, games, songs . . .

Most importantly, RELAX AND HAVE FUN! Kids are sponges and they will absorb what they hear-see-touch. And, while they are learning, so are you. You are given the chance to identify early what excites your child and what learning method works best. Invaluable for the future.
