Say hello to Wave Rock, a 110-metre, rainbow-hued granite swell formed more than three million years ago. It’s in the ballpark of another imaginatively named rock formation: Hippo’s Yawn. You can actually climb through the hippo’s ‘neck’ to grab a happy snap. Fun fact: the visitor centre here has the world’s largest collection of toy soldiers. Wave Rock local Sheenagh knows a thing or two about life on the land. She’s passionate about her farm, and proudly shows off the outback while you explore the wide open spaces that characterise the WA countryside.

Hippo's Yawn

Lake Magic

Lake Magic is a naturally occurring gypsum-based salt lake, which has never been dry. Nothing grows or lives in the lake due to the gypsum content. It is a clear lake with white beach sand around the perimeter.

Statues Lake, Kondinin

Statues Lake in Kondinin, Australia is a one-of-a-kind travel destination that offers visitors an opportunity to witness and explore four beautiful iron statues.

Each of these statues is unique and stylized to represent the typical farming activities in the region. The presence of these statues has earned the place its unofficial name as "Statues Lake".

At Statues Lake, visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery and appreciate the uniqueness of the statues. The lake is a peaceful site that offers a relaxing walk around it. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll around the lake while taking in the peaceful ambiance. The statues are the highlight of the place, and visitors can learn about the historical significance of the farming activities represented by each of them.

Coolgardie is world-famous for two major events in Western Australia's mining history. It's the birthplace of the great gold rush of 1892 and the site of Varischetti's amazing mine rescue after nine days trapped in a flooded underground mine.

Kalgoorlie’s origins can be retraced to 1893 when a trio of Irish prospectors – most notably Paddy Hannan – were forced into an unscheduled stop on their way to nearby Mt Youle.
