Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Khalsa School. My name is Mrs. Aulakh, and I am very excited to be your science teacher again this year. This is my thirteenth year teaching at this school, and I am proud of all my memorable and enjoyable years at KSC.
I have both a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science (Chemistry) degree, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the Punjab University, Chandigarh, India. After upgrading my education from the University of Calgary, I received my Alberta Teaching Certification. Prior to joining Khalsa School Calgary, I have worked with the Calgary Catholic School District as a student teacher and the Calgary Board of Education in the school years 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 respectively. While teaching at KSC, it gives me great pleasure to see you all trying your best in learning and helping other classmates in achieving their goals.
During these summer holidays, I spent quality time with my family and also explored some historical, scientific, and famous archaeological sites on the East Coast of Canada. Walking through the Bell Island Iron Ore Mine and touching one of the oldest rocks on the continents, visiting the site of Marconi’s first transatlantic radio signals in Newfoundland, and witnessing some of the greatest scientific inventions of the time by Alexander Graham Bell in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia are some of my takeaways. I am very excited to listen to your learning stories and experiences this school year.
“Love challenges, be intrigued by mistakes, enjoy effort, and keep on learning.”~ Carol Dweck
I always look forward to working with the school’s wonderful team to help each one of you in realizing your greatest potential. As a teacher, nothing is more rewarding to me than being a part of KSC students’ journey from elementary to grade nine, and hearing about your success stories in high school and university down the road.
We will be continuing to use Google Classroom, and I will be posting most of the worksheets, notes, labs, and other important resources online. My goal as your teacher is to help you all make this school year engaging and rewarding, and to guide you through your transition into high school sciences.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Prabhjeet Aulakh
