Welcome to Mrs. Parhar 's Grade 5 website!

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year at Khalsa School Calgary, with a special welcome to those who are new to our school! My name is Mandeep Kaur Parhar and it will be my pleasure to get to know each one of you. 

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 5. We will begin the session with a staggered entry for 2 days only.  This will ensure that students are comfortable with the transition into a new school year after a long and relaxing summer break. I have published the Tuesday and Wednesday group lists for grade 5A under the daily agenda on this website. Additionally, I have communicated your child's group to you via email.

All supplies are available for students in the classroom. We will complete most learning in the classroom with a blend of paper and online learning. Chrome books will be provided to students in the classroom, so personal technology is not allowed.

Please ensure that you check the class website and Google Classroom daily. The class website will have important updates. Also, it will have the agenda posted daily, outlining the home assignments and projects with the due dates mentioned. In case of absence, the material will be available to the student when they return. Students can seek clarification from the teacher when they are back in school. However, try to maintain assignment deadlines (with reasonable flexibility due to absence) to ensure consistent and accurate assessment.

The classroom website and Google Classroom are very important resources for online, as well as classroom learning as I will post daily homework, assignments, school events, the curriculum, and important websites. Please visit the classroom website every day.

I am looking forward to an exciting year full of educational as well as extracurricular activities that will help you grow academically and socially.
