Class Routine

Virtual Class Duration: 35 mins. to begin with (up to 50 mins. by end of the year)

• Meet and Greet: ~ 5 minutes

• Mool Mantar:  ~ 3 minutes (learn to lead, once memorized)

• Letter of the Day :  ~12 minutes

  • Letter shape (sequence of steps to trace)

  • Letter Sound

  • Related Pictures from Kinder work packet 

  • Guiding kids into thinking what other things begin with same letter

• Counting in Punjabi ~ 3 minutes

• Colors: ~3 minutes (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, White, Pink, Black, Brown); wear a color each week; ‘Dost’ a colorful story

• Tracing / writing letters in work packet: ~8 minutes

• Instructions for HW and closure: ~3 minutes

• Letter Review Day - Choose a Share and tell at the end of each row 

• Craft for an Akhar or an event: 15-20 mins. (in-person only)

(Class routine could be tweaked based on students’ need, interest, and cultural events)
