STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Once a week, students in Kindergarten through sixth grade get to explore 21st century skills in a hands-on manner. We will watch worms and butterflies grow, study habitats with fish tanks, frogs, and grow our own garden. Also, students will learn invaluable technology skills ranging from typing, cybersecurity, and robotics. Lastly, students will strengthen their math mindset through practical, real world problems and solutions using what they are already exposed to in their math classrooms. I am very excited about what this year will hold!
Welcome to Sealston Elementary! I am Sierra Frazier, the STEM Specials teacher. I have been with King George County since 2015. I love this community and especially the students at Sealston! I taught second grade and fourth grade previously. This is my first year teaching STEM topics. I have sponsored the SES STEM club for two years now as well. I have a Masters of Teaching and Bachelors of Science in Developmental Psychology from Liberty University. I love to fish, play sports, and watch TV with my husband and doggy, Gunner. I have four stepchildren ranging from 10-16 years old that I enjoy spending time with as well. I am excited to bring STEM to SES this school year and I am always open to parent volunteers/guest speakers!
