PE 10 is a graduation requirement. During the semester of PE 10, every student will take 6 weeks of Driver's Ed. Students under the age of 18 must pass Driver's Ed in order to obtain a license. Students may take their Learner's Permit test at the DMV when they are 15 and 6 months. They do not have to take Driver's Ed to take their permit test. During Driver's Ed, students will have a minimum of 36 hours of instruction about vehicles, how to operate vehicles, and Virginia Rules and Laws. Students must be in class for 36 hours in order to pass, therefore class attendance is crucial. Parents and students must also attend a 90 minute Parent/Teen meeting in order to pass. This is an additional requirement. The instructors will hold several days during the semester. A guardian/parent and student must attend one of those sessions for the student to pass.
