About AVID Learning

WICOR is an acronym for Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading.

WICOR provides a learning model that educators can use to guide students in engaging and rigorous activities that are both research-based and highly effective to prepare students for future success.

Wicor Tracker.pdf

At KLS you will see a WICOR tracker in every classroom.

These visual posters are a way for classes to chart and discuss which WICOR strategies they are using. It helps for students to know the "why" about the activities they are engaging in for learning. This is a way to communicate that the tasks have multiple purposes for development.
