Women's Leadership Institute - Summer Leadership Academy

The Summer Leadership Academy brings together 65 high school girls from across the U.S. to Mount Mary University for a residential college-prep, career exploration, and leadership program. Horizontes en Carroll

Horizontes en Carroll is a residential, week-long summer program. It provides high school students an opportunity to explore university life and gain academic, social and life skills that will help them succeed in a college setting. Participants spend the week experiencing mock classes, working with current Carroll students and taking college preparatory workshops all while staying overnight in our residence halls and enjoying fun activities each evening.  In order to qualify for the program, students must be in grades 9-12 in the 2019-2020 school year, be a student in the state of Wisconsin, qualify for free or reduced lunch, have interest in attending a four-year institution.  Please note that the deadline for the Horizontes en Carroll applications is Friday, May 10th, 2019.  You can find the application to DPI and Horizontes en Carroll here: https://authoring.carrollu.edu/admissions/pre-college/horizontes

Natural Resources Careers Exploration Week

Designed for sophomores, juniors and graduating seniors who are interested in exploring careers in all aspects of natural resource management. This course provides meaningful opportunities to gain insight into a variety of career paths. Students experience real-life field-work, learn about education and training requirements, expected salary ranges and what today's job market looks like. Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design - Summer Pre-College

MIAD’s Summer Pre-College is an intense, immersive, and exciting exploration of visual art and design for high school age students. Taught by MIAD faculty, this is an opportunity to create art all day, every day, and experience a college-level curriculum. I Want to Be a Teacher Camp at UW-Whitewater

This four day overnight camp is designed for high school students interested in becoming a teacher.  Participants will be able to engage with current UW-Whitewater education students and faculty.  Students will have firsthand experience of participating in education courses. A technology for education workshop and a library tour will be included as well. Law Enforcement Career Academy

The Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy (WALLECA) is a program for high school students who have completed their junior year and are in good academic standing. The program provides a first-hand experience and insight into the operations of law enforcement agencies.  The program will offer physical fitness training coupled with classroom instruction and hands-on training. Topics of instruction include criminal law, constitutional law, patrol procedures, criminal investigation procedures, traffic crash investigation, evidence gathering techniques, arrest techniques, taking fingerprints, testifying in court, public speaking, leadership skills, report writing, interviewing techniques, crisis intervention, use of control and firearms training.  For more information and to apply, visit: https://wilegion.org/walleca/.

500 Stars Summer Internship

The application for the 2020 Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI) 500 Stars Summer Internship program is now open.  CTSI 500 Stars Summer Internship Program is open to high school students and offers 6-8 weeks of hands-on experiences working with with CTSI regional partners and their research teams. Internship sites may include research labs, research support settings, clinical care settings, community sites, and much more. Engineering Tomorrow's Careers Camp at UW-Madison

ProSCI at UW-Madison

ProCSI (Promoting the Computational Science Initiative, pronounced "proxy"), is an annual, week-long program that is offered, free of charge, at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. High school students going into their 10th, 11th, or 12th grade with an interest in engineering are encouraged to apply. ProCSI participants attend lectures on a range of engineering-related topics, go on tours of campus, and experience campus life during this fun-filled week.
