Student learning is evaluated informally and formally at different points in their academic career. These assessments occur both in and outside of the classroom and combined offer a picture of how each student and the overall student body of our program are performing in relation to the program goals. Assessment information isn't just used to evaluate a student's achievement; it's also used to evaluate the effectiveness of our teaching methods and overall program design and delivery. The table below offers important insight into the specific expectations we have for our students. Each learning goal and its corresponding learning objectives (far right columns) are outlined, and learning outcomes - that is the skills, knowledge, or attitudes that result from the learning experiences - are categorized according to level of achievement; those toward the right end of the table represent an outstanding achievement of the learning objective, while those to the left represent an underachievement.
