For the 2024-25 academic year, the club is focusing on:
Training members for new (Technician) or upgraded (General) licenses.
Enhancing our club room.
Recruiting new members.
Projects have included:
Building FM radios from kits.
Building Atari synthesizer kits.
Building an antenna for receiving signals from a NOAA weather satellite.
Finish building attenuators for foxhunting with our "tape measure" Yagi antennas.
We are open to new ideas and projects! Please come to one of our meetings, and let us know your ideas.
Kettering alumnus, Jim Hessler, will be bringing his Ham Van to campus for a visit on Friday, October 24, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm in the "pool" area next to the Campus Center building.
During our Thursday build meetings, we will be finishing contruction of an antenna suitable for receiving signals from a NOAA weather satellite
The club set up a portable station outside of the Learning Commons building during June 2024 and October 2024 raise awareness about the club and amateur radio.
Club members visited the Dayton Hamvention during 2023 and 2024 to participate in the Collegiate Amateur Radio Program (CARP) programs, shop for gear, and take license exams.
