Living Wisely

Welcome. I’m Kes.

I provide counselling and holistic therapy online across the UK, and internationally, as well as in-person sessions in Brighton, including eco-therapy, movement and creative arts. If you’re looking for an opportunity to make sense of what’s going on inside and around you, you’re in the right place. My work is rooted in relating to you at depth, as a whole person, rather than through any dogma or diagnosis. I work outside the reductionist framework of the mental health industrial complex, because I believe that your feelings and needs are natural and understandable. I am not here to pathologise, treat or fix you, I'm here to empower you and assist you to trust in yourself, and your own insights, realisations and solutions.

Confidential, Ethical and Professional Service

My private practice is registered with UK Government Department for Health and Social Care accredited ethical bodies; British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (392057) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCS22-01954). My holistic, integrative approach is grounded in practice-based phenomenological research and informed by ongoing personal and professional development. I provide confidential services, and receive external clinical supervision as an ethical requirement; I never reveal any of your personally-identifiable information, unless in exceptional circumstances, such as for safeguarding reasons. Neurodivergent, multicultural and LGBTQIA+ clients are welcome in my practice; I offer an affirmative service based on therapeutic humility, and respect for your autonomy, dignity and freedom to be yourself.

New to therapy? Wondering what to expect? Here's a short video introduction.

A Brave Space for Connection and Introspection

“Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes”  - C. G. Jung, founder of Analytical Psychology

Many of us have learned to cope with life by ignoring or pushing away our feelings and using only our intellects. However this often unintentionally results in burnout, overwhelm, disorganisation, addictive cycles or feeling lost and without meaning. I ask you, what if your feelings are worth listening to? My work centres on assisting you to bravely and courageously turn inwards to relate with your uncomfortable feelings. By focusing on your feelings without reacting, and slowly exploring how they relate to your past and present, you can gradually gain clarity, recover self-awareness, and lead your life with greater self-trust.

Navigating a Changing World

We live in a time of global crisis. Ecological destruction, social oppression, trauma, consumerism and constant pressure to “just keep going” generates fear, discontent, shame, and apathy. But this is also a moment of deep reckoning and the possibility for transformation. Together, I hope we can empower and liberate you to tap into inner peace, and restore joy and wisdom as you move forwards.

Who I Work With

I believe in therapy that meets you where you are. Many of my clients feel that they don't fit into mainstream moulds, and suffer with feeling disconnected from others around them. I support individuals with sensitive nervous systems, those who are struggling with their thoughts, and anyone whose culture, identity, gender, sexuality, or relationships have been marginalised or misunderstood. My practice is rooted in anti-marginalisation and anti-oppression, creating a space where all aspects of you are welcome.

Support Tailored to You

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” - Carl Rogers, founder of the Person-Centred Approach

You may be here because you want to feel calmer, safer and more connected. You might be looking for support with your relationships, improving your habits, or building self-trust, confidence, and maybe some more zest for life. My role is to be alongside you as you grow, expand your mind, playfully explore, and build resilience and tools to navigate life’s challenges. Often this process begins by learning to accept yourself.

If any of this resonates, please feel free to reach out. I’d love to connect and talk about how we might work together.
