How Do I Find Books Online?

Mackinvia

Mackinvia has added hundreds of free titles until September 2020. Log in with your 6-digit number. Your password is your first name with the first letter capitalized.

JLG@Home

Junior Library Guild has also added free books. Be sure to look through the elementary and middle school sections as well as the high school group. I found titles that might interest you in each of the sections.

Project Gutenberg

Project Gutenberg offers hundreds of classic books that are no longer copyrighted.

For more about copyright and the public domain, click the tab above.

Audible

Audible has released free titles for listening. Although they divided the books into age groups, I found interesting titles in each one.

Kern County Library

If you have a KernCounty Library card, you should start here! The public library system has hundreds of ebook titles, with a robust Young Adult collection.

Hoopla! Hoopla!

This is a wonderful option because the books you see are NEVER all checked out! Hoopla contains a wonderful selection of YA novels and audiobooks. Sign up for a free account using your Kern County Library Card number.

Your PIN will be the last 4 digits of the phone number you used when you applied for your library card. (It could be your mom's phone or an old family home number.)

Apply for a library card from home.

You can apply for a library card from home, but it may take 4-6 weeks for processing. If I were you, I would apply TODAY and use the options above until my card came.
