PLAID Points are given to students to acknowledge their display of Pride, Leadership, Attitude, Integrity, and Determination. 

These points an be given through Synergy or through a paper copy. Please see the acknowledgment system presentation below for instructions on how to give PLAID points. If you have any questions, please reach out to cassandra_winans@kernhigh.org. 

PLAID POINT EXAMPLES

• PRIDE

  • Going all out for a school dress up day

  • Picking up trash when they are not asked

  • Always repping highland gear

  • Going out of their way to participate in lunch time activities or rallies when they are not required to do so

• LEADERSHIP

  • Helping out a substitute that needs help without being asked

  • Helping out a struggling peer without being asked

• ATTITUDE

  • Showing an improved attitude when it comes to the classroom or school activities

• INTEGRITY

  • Helping defuse a situation on campus.

  • Showing respect and honesty

• DETERMINATION

  • Taking the effort to improve their grades

  • Putting in extra work when it is not required (class, club, sport)

Because our students are so awesome, I understand the desire to reward them with multiple points at once, however, students should only be given one to five points at a time. This ensures that our system is evenly distributed and consistent across campus. It also allows our rewards to last throughout the year.
