Foothill High School Link Crew is dedicated to providing peer support to our incoming freshmen. Link Crew is an organization that focuses on freshmen transitions. They consist of a handpicked group of upper class students from a variety of backgrounds who work together as a team to host activities on campus and mentor freshmen. Incoming Freshmen are linked with a peer leader throughout the year for guidance they may need throughout their first year as a high school student. By becoming a Link Leader, students also gain leadership skills that will help them become positive role models in college, the workforce, and their community.

I have been teaching biology for 14 years, the last 10 of which have been here at Foothill. I got involved with Link Crew because I saw potential to bring about positive school culture. It has seen documented success across numerous campuses to reduce truancy and problematic behavior. Through peer mentoring, Link Crew gives new students the tools necessary to get a great start on campus.

I have been teaching Art for 15 years, the last 11 here at Foothill. I got involved with link crew because I believe that this program can have a very positive impact at Foothill and can move our school culture in a positive direction. My favorite part of the program is that students help other students and learn great leadership qualities at the same time.

I have been teaching PE for 8 years, the last 6 have been here at the Hill. I got involved with link crew because I remember thinking back to my freshman year of high school and how overwhelmed I was and felt like I hardly knew anyone. I love that this program has grown so much in the past years throughout the entire district to help our incoming freshman and to even teach upper classmen leadership skills.
