9th Grade Information

We welcome the Class of 2029 with important events during the month of March. Families will receive a mailer from Independence in coming weeks but please note these dates:

March 27th - Orientation Night; 5:30-7:30 

March 31st- Registration Night; 4:30 - 7:30 in the Cafeteria

April 7th - Registration Night; 4:30 - 7:30 in the Cafeteria

Falcon Fest at the Nest (Freshmen Orientation)

March 27th, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

You do not want to miss this event for all incoming 9th graders and their parents! This is a great introduction to the Falcon culture and preview of opportunities at Independence like sports, programs, and clubs to get involved with during freshman year.

Freshmen Registration 

March 31st OR April 7th, 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM in the Cafeteria

Incoming freshmen and their parent/guardian will turn in the registration packet (given out at Orientation) with copies of 2 different forms of proof of residence (e.g. utility bill, cable bill, DMV documentation) and a copy of current immunizations. After turning in the paperwork, the student and parent/guardian will meet with an Independence staff member to select classes for the fall. In addition, students will take ID Card photos and have the opportunity to purchase IHS gear and PE clothes.
