7:30 am - 8:10 am Secondary Group

11:20-12:20 2nd Grade Group
12:20 pm- 1:20pm 5th Grade Group

2:00-3:00 4th Grade Group
3:00 - 3:30 pm Progress Monitoring Input and Dismissal
Do every night, lasting no more than 10 minutes.
Practice will take you farther in your reading ability than anything else.
Recommended outline: 1. Practice the cursive page. 2. Read the Rap Page/final section. 3. Read Instant Words. 4. If you have progressed to book 3 and beyond, you will have reading rate practice pages to read nightly instead of Rap and Instant Word practice.
Have your parents initial the page and return it the next day.
Meet the Teacher
Julie Nordman, M.Ed, begins her 27 year in education this fall. She was trained by the Dyslexia Program creators at The Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at The Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Dallas. There she attended training for the Bridges Program, a Dyslexia Intervention Connecting Teacher, Avatar and Student. Also she was trained in Build: A K-1 Early Reading Intervention Program. As well in the Rite Flight Comprehension and Fuency Reading Rate Program. She has completed Region 12 Texas Dyslexia Academy - Trainings : Dyslexia Handbook, Screening for Dyslexia, Dysgraphia as well as TEA Dyslexia Intervention Training. Mrs. Nordman has also attended the Summer International Dyslexia Institute Conference. Prior to the Dyslexia Assignment, Mrs. Nordman earned her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and was a classroom teacher for more than 20 years. Her husband is also a teacher at Kerens and they have 3 children.
