I have been involved with UIL One Act Play since High School and have spent 30 years teaching and directing theatre. I also have been a successful Prose/Poetry coach.
I hold a BFA in theatre from SFASU.
As a UIL director, I have appeared 7 times at the State Meet. Winning first in 2009 in the 4A Conference and again in 2017 in the 3A Conference. I also have place second twice at the State Meet.
I was awarded the Dallas Theatre Center’s “Teacher of the Year” award and have directed at TAMU-CC’s Camp on the Coast 3 times.
I believe in the educational value of One Act play as a creative experience that will positively influence a student’s future for years to come. I have many students who have gone on and are currently working in live theatre, movies, television, and anime.
I have been married for 45 years and have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. We live on a family farm in the Trinity River bottom outside of Trinidad. I am excited to be a Kerens Bobcat and look forward to many wonderful productions by our Bobcat Theatre students.
