Anna Muller

BIO:

I come from a beautiful city, Gdańsk, located at the Baltic Sea in Poland. That’s where I grew up

appreciating history around me. This is where I first learned about the meaning of history while

earning a master’s degree in history and political science at the University of Gdańsk. I left Gdansk

in 2003 to join a graduate history program at Indiana University. In 2007, I returned to Gdansk to

finish my Ph.D. dissertation and in 2010 I began working for the Museum of the Second World

War, where I co-curated an exhibit on the Holocaust and concentration camps. Gdańsk is also the

place where I continue returning. Even years later it still feels like home. This is also a place where

many of my friends as well as family members live.

While I continue spending most of my summers in Poland, during an academic year, I live and work

in Dearborn, a city in Metro Detroit, where one of the University of Michigan campuses is located.
