KVH LAUNCHES DECISION TREE TO HELP WITH COMING MEDICAID COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CHANGES
Today marks exactly 100 days until the start of new Medicaid work reporting requirements under the Big Beautiful Bill. Beginning January 1, 2027, many adults ages 19–64 will have to meet new monthly reporting requirements to keep their Medicaid coverage. Most will need to document at least 80 hours per month of “community engagement” (work, school, or approved volunteer activity) or be able to prove that the requirements do not apply to them.
Some people won’t have to meet these new requirements, but they’ll still have to prove it. Parents and caregivers of children 13 and under, caregivers for disabled people or older adults, and many disabled Kentuckians may qualify for exemptions. However, even exempt individuals can still lose coverage if they miss paperwork or deadlines. The rules are complex, and knowing what you need to submit will be essential to keeping coverage.
