Dual Credit Scholarship:

• For 11th & 12th graders:

  • The scholarship now covers ONLY 1 General Education course

• For 9th–12th graders:

  • The scholarship still covers up to 2 Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses

Tuition Costs (Estimate) and Examples

• Current rate: $99 per credit hour 

• 3-credit course → $99 × 3 = $297

• 5-credit course → $99 × 5 = $495

What This Means for You and Planning Tips

• If you take a General Education class (like English, math, history):

  • Only 1 class is covered → you may have to pay out of pocket for additional classes

• If you take CTE classes (career-focused like welding, healthcare, tech):

  • You can still get up to 2 classes covered

• Choose your one free general education course carefully

• Consider taking CTE courses if you want more classes covered

• Budget ahead in case you take extra classes beyond what the scholarship pays

Dual Credit Scholarship FAQs

1. Are the scholarships automatic? No.

• You must set your scholarship preferences in September

• Scholarships are awarded only if you successfully complete the course

• They are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED

2. Are there other financial assistance programs in high school (KEES, adoption programs, etc.)? No.

• The only funding options available for dual credit are:

  • General Education Dual Credit Scholarship or the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Dual Credit Scholarship

3. How many classes can be covered?

• General Education:
  → 1 course covered

• Career & Technical Education (CTE):
  → Up to 2 courses covered

4. When will students apply for the scholarship?

• You’ll receive:

  • Instructions and a guidance slip telling you which scholarship(s) to select

This happens in September

• After that:

  • Your school will email guardians with instructions and Students must follow the steps provided
