In 2015, the Lao Rugby Federation launched the ChildFund Pass It Back rugby and life skills curriculum in partnership with ChildFund Australia, World Rugby, Asia Rugby and Women Win. Since then, over 100 teams and 3,000 young people have registered with the LRF’s Champa Ban “Little Blossoms” youth rugby program, and the success of Champa Ban powered by ChildFund Pass It Back has drawn international acclaim as an evidenced-based model providing young people in Laos the health and social benefits of organised sport. The Champa Ban Programme in Laos works to develop young people through rugby teaching them life skills, leadership and first aid skills. The Champa Ban teams have been proactive in supporting their communities during this current coronavirus pandemic by giving out hygiene supplies and WHO and Ministry of Health information to try and keep people in their local area safe and healthy during this time.
Last year, Kennedy School was proud to begin sponsor a Champa Ban team called the Butterfly. The annual cost of sponsoring this team is $20,000.
Sponsorship covers the following:
Coach Training and Support
Player Equipment (shirts, water bottles)
Training Costs
Team Match Fees
Team Equipment (balls, bibs, cones)
To make a donation in order to support our continued sponsorship of this team please contact the PTA (PTA@kennedy.edu.hk)
Every cent received will go towards supporting our Champa Ban team.
Many thanks
