Each tertiary institute offers specific scholarships for Māori, Pacific, and Refugee students. Whakapiki Ake Mentoring Programme
Whakapiki Ake is a Māori recruitment programme that works within a kaupapa Māori framework to support rangatahi Māori enrolled in secondary schools and kura.
They promote health as a career and entry into Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences health professional programmes.
They support the academic, cultural and social journey of students from Year 9 to graduation, inviting whānau to participate.

Scholarships and Programmes for Pacific students
TOLOA STEAM Scholarships
The Toloa Tertiary Scholarships aim to inspire and support Pacific students in their engagement with STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. This is not tied to a specific university - it is provided by Ministry for Pacific Peoples.

First Foundation
This scholarship is for Year 12 students. It is a four year programme that offers mentoring, money towards your study fees, and an industry aligned internship.

Te Kuhunga
Meredith Connell law firm (MC Law) run a mentoring and scholarship programme called Te Kuhunga. This programme is suitable for students who are interested in studying Law. Year 12 and Year 13 students can register their interest with this google form before the end of term 1 and more information will be shared with you throughout the year.
