Mission
The mission of Coweeman Middle School Counselors is providing a data driven, proactive, comprehensive program that prepares all students to be successful citizens in a global society. The counselors at Coweeman Middle School strive to close the achievement/opportunity gap by preparing every student to be college and career ready. Coweeman school counselors cultivate relationships to advocate for equity, access, and success for all students. Coweeman school counselors partner with stakeholders to advocate for academic, career, and social emotional awareness and growth.
Vision
All students at Coweeman Middle School are confident, empowered, and prepared to enter their post-secondary pathway. Each and every day, students are challenged to push themselves academically, gain skills for personal/social development, and have assembled the knowledge to be career and college ready. Our students are capable, worthy, inspired, and are able to showcase their abilities to become a future citizen in our community.
Confidentiality in School Counseling
The professional responsibility of School Counselors is to respect the right to privacy of those with whom they enter into a counseling relationship. Professional school counselors must keep informed of and adhere to all laws, policies, and ethical standards pertaining to confidentiality. The counselor must not compromise this confidentiality except when there is a reasonable suspicion of danger to the student and/or other persons.
