Kelly McKinney is a native of Georgia growing up in Brooks. After living in other areas, Kelly has returned to the family home with her husband and family. Kelly's day job is teaching elementary music in Clayton County. She is also a performing flutist and has a flute studio where she teaches lessons from school age students to senior citizens. In addition, Kelly is the conductor of the Fayette Area Flutists, flute choir. Originally the freeze dryer was for food preservation but found it fun to freeze dry candy for her students and family. After encouragement from her children, she decided to make freeze dried candy for the community.
