Letterland
Students will learn the sound-alike spellings ir and ur.
Tricky Words for the week - move, warm
Homework- Students should be able to read, spell, and write the words in List A, B, and C on the Student List 31, paper sent home in your students Purple Folder.
Reading
Student will read independently for a sustained period of time. Students are working towards a reading level of I / J / or K as an end of the year goal.
Writing - Realistic Fiction
Student will plan a first draft, by generating ideas for writing by drawing and brainstorming.
Science
Student will select and begin research on a desert animal.
Social Studies
Students will understand differentiate between goods and services and understand how we use income as a means to obtain our needs and wants.
Math
Students will be able to identify coins and skip count to determine their value.
Hybrid Math
Students will be able to identify coins and skip count to determine their value.
How can I help my child at home?
gather collections of no more than 20 objects (buttons, toy cars, legos, etc...) and practice adding and subtracting different amounts
go on a shape hunt and look for different 2D and 3D objects around the house
