Library Policies

Hours

8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Access

The library is open and available for students before school, during lunch, and after school. During class, students must have a pass from their teacher to come to the library.

Students must have their student ID on and visible to come to the library.

Checkout and Fines

Students may check out up to 12 books for 4 weeks at a time.

Late fines are not assessed for students. If an item is overdue past 60 days, it will automatically be marked as lost and a replacement fine will be assessed to the student's account.

Materials Selection and Freedom to Read

Materials in the library are selected according to the KISD district and library services procedures and policies. The selection policy ensures that all students have open and free access to ideas and information that is aligned to curricula, age-appropriate, representing multiple perspectives, and representative of the school community. Inquiries into specific materials available in the library can be made to the librarian directly, Jonathan Thorn.

The library endorses the American Library Association's Freedom to Read Policy and protects the privacy of patrons' reading histories.
