BOB forms are due to the library by Friday, October 3. After all forms are turned in, Ms. Norris will contact individuals about their lunch practice times starting late October.
Battle of the Books is for students in 3rd, 4th, & 5th grades.
What is it? Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program designed to improve reading comprehension and enthusiasm for reading using a fun and unique competition format. Participants are given a reading list of ten books and challenged to read as many books on the list as possible. At the Keller ISD District competition, students will compete in teams to determine their knowledge and understanding of the books.
How are the books selected? This year’s books have been carefully selected to include a variety of genres, reading levels, and themes. This assortment of current and previous Texas Bluebonnet Award nominees and KISD Best Reads List books provides a selection to appeal to reluctant as well as enthusiastic and mature readers.
Are the books available at SVES? All Battle of the Books selections are available for check out through the school library, so there is no cost to participate. The following titles are selected for this year’s competition:
