*8th Grade Honors ELA: Math STAAR Test on Tuesday! Then we'll continue our fun project where you research anything that interests you and write about it in 3 different ways!

*English I Honors: Math STAAR on Tuesday! We'll keep reading our fantastic book and practice all we've learned in understanding this story. We'll also watch the movie version and discuss differences.

Teacher Bio / Introduction:

Hi all! I'm excited to be your teacher this year! :) I grew up on a farm in Kansas, went to college in Utah (Go BYU Cougars!), and have lived in Texas for 22 years! My husband is a city planner and we have four kids who have been in the Panther feeder pattern: a daughter who graduated from Ridge and is currently subbing in KellerISD, a Senior daughter, a Sophomore daughter, and a 7th grade son here at Fossil Hill.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism, I was an elementary librarian for 3 years, and this is my 6th year as an ELA teacher at Fossil Hill Middle School! I really love to read any book I can get my hands on, and I really love to find a just right book for you. Even if you aren't a reader yet, don't give up hope! We will be working on improving our reading enjoyment and comprehension, and we will definitely find the best ways for you to communicate in written form as well!

I offer tutorials before school (8-8:20) and after school (4-4:20) in Room 415 on Mondays and Wednesdays. Other times can be set up by request and can even be done over Zoom in the evenings.
