COSTUME, MAKE-UP & HAIR
Each dancer has a special costume for the dance(s). Please label all costumes, shoes, and accessories with your dancer's name or initials. These items cannot be replaced and are very important to your dancer. Do not attempt to wash, dry clean, or iron costumes (a hand held steamer is recommended for removing wrinkles).
Tights are designed to be underwear beneath a costume. Explain to your dancer that tights are worn instead of underwear. Undergarments may only be worn with a costume if they are not visible. Please purchase tights for the performance at our Kehl Dance Supply store located in the studio, so all dancers have the same color tights for the recital performance.
Kehl sells body-liners, which are nude-colored leotards that may be worn under most costumes. Wearing a body-liner may help some dancers feel more comfortable changing in the dressing room.
Make-up is important so your dancer's face will be visible on stage. Stage lights are very bright and wash out features. Blush and lipstick is recommended even for our youngest dancers. Ask our CARE Staff at the front desk if you need guidance.
Jewelry is not allowed on stage. Please also remove nail polish and temporary tattoos.

Kehl has multiple shows which allows us to keep each show to a reasonable time limit, and allows you to invite more family members to each show. Each class performs in one show and cannot be reassigned.
If your child/family has multiple classes, it is possible that they will perform in more than one show. To find out what show your class has been assigned to, follow the instructions below. Once you experience our amazing shows, you may want to attend them all!

Our wonderful Recital Shows require a professional venue, where we can showcase the students and provide a comfortable atmosphere for friends and family to watch. This year, our shows will be at the Verona Badger Ridge Middle School PAC, located at 300 Richard St, Verona 53593.
2 Ways to View the Show!
Live Event:
We offer an online ticketing system which allows you to select and purchase your own reserved seats. Please be sure to know which show(s) your dancer(s) will perform in before buying tickets. Instructions to find the correct show are listed earlier in this newsletter. Tickets are not refundable once purchased.
Tickets go on sale online at noon Monday, April 8th. Children sitting on a lap will not need a ticket. Dancers who would like to watch any part of the show (when they are not dancing) will need a ticket for a reserved seat.
Purchase tickets starting April 8th at noon
Tickets are $15 for upper level seating and $18 for seats on the floor section.
The ticketing company charges a $1.90 processing fee per ticket
You may pay for tickets with Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express
Please print your tickets and bring them with you to the Recital Show
There are no refunds or returns on tickets purchased.
Live Stream:
We offer Livestream viewing of the Recital Performances. Closer to the show date we will release a link which gives friends and family members the option to purchase access to view the show.
There is a $20 flat fee which gives you access to all four recital shows.
Once you receive the link, you can create an account and pre-pay in order to avoid any last-minute issues, or pay the day of the show.
All dancers will participate in a rehearsal on stage at Badger Ridge PAC. Attendance is important as it helps your dancer and their classmates feel prepared. Dancers wear costumes, makeup, and style their hair as though the rehearsal is the actual show. Please be in the dressing room, ready for your dancer to go on stage, 30 minutes prior to the scheduled rehearsal time for the class. We will have attendants in the dressing room to assist you. Estimated on-stage times for dress rehearsal may be found in your parent portal.

Wednesday May 1st - Rehearsal for Saturday May 4th - 3:00pm Show
Thursday May 2nd - Rehearsal for Saturday May 4th - 6:00pm Show
The dress rehearsal schedule is posted in your account and was sent to you in an email titled Event Confirmation. Rehearsal times are in the late afternoon and evening.
No regularly scheduled classes are held at the studio April 29 - May 5, and the studio will be closed.
**Please observe: No food, gum or beverages are allowed in the dressing room or auditorium. Children that are not dancing must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Tap shoes must be carried between the dressing room and backstage area.
Organization is the key for a successful recital. Dancers prepare throughout the year, learning new skills and a special dance to perform. It can be easy to forget items if you are not prepared for this exciting day.
Families should plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled show time. Doors to the auditorium open 30 minutes prior to the show. Dancers should report to the dressing room to check in.
Dancers should be dressed, ready to go on stage, and in the dressing room at least 8 numbers before they are scheduled to perform. A Kehl assistant will escort dancers to the stage. Parents are not invited into the backstage area. Dancers will be brought back to the dressing room after their dance is done. Please plan to meet your dancer there. Keep your costume on to participate in a "finale" bow at the end of the show.*
You may exit the theater between dances to meet your dancer and help them change. We provide limited assistance in the dressing rooms. Assistants are there to supervise and escort dancers to and from the stage. Please plan to help your dancer change if they require assistance. Only women and girls are allowed in the girls dressing room. Men are asked to notify a Kehl assistant if their dancer needs help in the dressing room. Boys will have their own dressing room.
*All dancers are invited to go on stage for a final bow during the "Finale". Dancers should be dressed in costume and meet in dressing rooms 8 numbers before the end of the show to participate. We will make an announcement in the auditorium when it is time to line up for the "Finale".
Limited food and drink is available during our intermissions, and between shows in the event you choose to stay between shows.
Approximately 2 weeks after the show, we will send you an email with access to video of all the shows. We provide this service at no extra charge! Only families with Kehl accounts will have access. If you download any part of the performance, you may share the download with others.
Can I take pictures and video during the show? We provide a high quality video of the performance for you to view at any time. We ask that you not take photos or video during the show.
Is there seating for family members with special needs or wheelchairs? Seats purchased in the upper level require a short stair climb and are not recommended for seniors who cannot climb stairs. There will be wheelchair accessible seating for purchase.
Do children/dancers need a ticket to watch the show? Children that can comfortably sit on your lap do not need a ticket. Because all seats are purchased and reserved, there are no empty seats for children. Everyone who wishes to attend must have a ticket/assigned seat.
What if my dancer has a quick costume change during the show? Dancers with a quick costume change will receive an email notifying them of the quick change and directions to follow for this quick change before the dress rehearsal.
Are there classes after the show? During the weeks following the show, we take individual and class photos at the studio during your regularly scheduled class time. We also invite you to attend our Open House week of classes if your would like to take advantage of trying a different style of dance! More information will be available soon regarding these opportunities.
Is there a live-stream option to watch the show? We make live-stream available for a flat fee of $20 for the recital weekend. There is no replay option, only live-stream of the event.
