Make a copy of this set of slides to capture your learning about 'Media Bias'. Take time to pause movies to discuss with your peers or teacher how the media shows bias. Use the questions in these slides to guide your learning discussions.

It's time to be a "Media Detective" so get out your critical magnifying glass and have a look at these pieces of media. You are going to think about the purpose for why they have been created.
a. Make a copy of the slides
b. Answer slides two and three.
c. Now you must find your own media. Insert it in the box. Then answer the questions about it.

Share your work on your blog.
In your post tell your audience about all the different types of media you consume. What is your favourite form of media?
Learning Intention: I can use the google sheets to analyse election results for my whanau'a electorate of Panmure and Otahuhu.
LEARN:
a. Let's watch this video to understand how New Zealanders had 2 votes to make in our elections this year.
b. Let's learn what the electorate results are for Otahuhu and Panmure. Go here
CREATE:
Create a chart that shows our electorate party vote results.
a. Go to your drive
b. Maths Folder
c. Create new 'Sheet', title 'Party Votes'.
d. Go the link you had earlier that shows the party votes. Select the results for National, Labour, Act and 2 other parties of your choice to copy the results from and paste into your sheet.
e. Highlight all your data, find 'Insert' then 'Chart'. Have a play here with changing colours to match party etc.

Firstly explain in writing how our country had the opportunity to cast 2 votes, for a candidate and party.
Show your chart to help explain how the electorate of Otahuhu and Panmure voted.
Learning Intention: to draft and then publish quality blog posts that share my experiences.

Repeat the whole process this time with writing a blog post about any of the events listed in this set of slides.

Learn: How to use Te Reo when writing my positive, thoughtful and helpful comments on blogs. Look over this set of slides to start learning!
Create: Using Te Reo in whole or part of a comment - comment on three blog posts written by your class mates. Use the first slide in the deck you opening above to draft your comments. Ka taea e koe!
Share: share by way of posting your well crafted comment on the blog posts of individuals you have read.

Let's remind ourselves of how we comment:
a. What is a positive comment?
b. Write a positive comment
Learn: how to write a comment that is positive, thoughtful and helpful.
Create: a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment on a student's blog post from Panmure Bridge School.
a. Go to your cybersmart folder
b. Open a new google doc and title 'Commenting'
c. Insert a table into the doc that has 2 columns and 6 rows.
d. In the first column write the title of a blog post you select from an individual student from Panmure Bridge. Hyperlink to blog post
e. In the second column, draft the comment you will pubish on the post.
Share: post the comment on the student's blog.
*Repeat the process with another table in the same doc, this time for Room 3@Pt England School.

What does it add to my footprint? Public/private info being shared? Acknowledgement of creator of content I am using?

Learn: what information I should share about myself online with my blog audience. This is called your footprint. Learn using this help first, then this second.
*My footprint online is one to present with respect and safety.
Create: my personal profile for my blog. Use this to draft in or this Profile Poster format if you prefer.
Share: your completed learning about public and private information with another learner and your teacher. (It will be shared on your blog soon too!)
Keep practicing ‘Daily Drive’ during the week to reinforce the creation new documents and filing them in the correct folder. Right place - right time!
Something to think about, your footprint is left behind with every click. Watch this and discuss with your group what you learned from this.
