In kindergarten your child will be working in the areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies.
Language arts: We will be working on phonemic awareness, reading skills, and writing. Children will learn through games, stories, individual books, and in small & large groups.
Math: Kinders will be working on understanding numbers, patterns, shapes, word problems, adding, subtracting, telling time, and using money. We will be using the ViewBoard, manipulatives, books, and charts during our math instruction.
Science: We'll learn about magnets, the natural world, and seasons though technology, stories and experiments.
Social Studies: We are going to focus on holidays, stores, family, and the world we live in. Our social studies curriculum is covered with field trips, stories, movies and morning meeting activities.
