All About Me

Welcome! I'm Mrs. Petty, and I'm so excited to be part of your child's learning journey. I grew up in southeastern Massachusetts, where I spent 23 wonderful years teaching fourth grade.  Four years ago, my husband and I moved to beautiful New Hampshire, and I've loved becoming part of this community.

Family is at the heart of everything I do. I have a wonderful husband, two grown children, Jen and Matt, and two energetic granddaughters, ages 3 and 5, who bring so much joy to my life. They remind me every day how exciting it is to learn, explore, and see the world through a child's eyes. Our family also includes two very lazy dogs, Charley and Marlow, who are experts at napping and are always happy to keep us company! 

When I'm not at school, you'll usually find me curled up with a good book, trying a new recipe in the kitchen, or enjoying the outdoors. I love gardening, practicing yoga, hiking, skiing, and boating with family and friends. My favorite food is pizza, and if you ever want to know my favorite sweet treat, it's a York Peppermint Patty!

After more than two decades in education, I still love watching students grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and develop a lifelong love of learning. I look forward to getting to know each of my students and their families and making this a wonderful year together!
