Blizzard Bag

Blizzard Bag Day 2 Music Activities

Directions: Please complete one of the following assignments for music class today. All written work should be done on the back of this paper. This activity should take no longer than 20 minutes.

Practice your instrument

Do you play an instrument such as the piano or guitar? Do you take voice lessons? If you practice today, it will count as music class! Write down what instrument you played (or if you sang), and what you practiced.

Write a piggyback song

A piggyback song is a familiar song with new lyrics. Use a familiar song, and change the lyrics to create your own piggyback song. For example, I’ve Been Working On The Railroad could be changed to I’ve Been Cleaning Up My Bedroom.

Listen to a piece of music

Listen to a piece of music and answer the following questions.

Why do you like this music?

How does this music make you feel?

What instruments and/or voices do you hear?

Explore a music website

A. Grades K-3 Explore https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/. Please write which part of the website you used to create music.

B. Grades 4 and 5 Visit http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/fromthetop/video/. Watch one episode, and include a written statement about what instrument the performer played, what piece they performed, and a few facts about the performer.

Hope you have a great blizzard bag day! If you need help, please contact your music teacher:
