Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I'm a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher who believes in the power of inclusive education. I co-teach several English and Math classes using an inclusive model that supports all learners within the general education classroom. Additionally, I provide specialized instruction during intervention blocks to help meet the unique needs of my students.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a Minor in Psychology from Chowan University (2013), and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Plymouth State University (2016). My academic journey has helped shape the educator I am today—one who values empathy, equity, and evidence-based instruction.
I’m committed to continual learning and growth to better support my students. Some of the specialized training I’ve completed includes:
The On-Going Assessment Project (OGAP) – Additive, Multiplicative, Fractions & Proportionality
Wilson Reading Program – Certified Dyslexia Practitioner
Lindamood-Bell Programs – Visualizing & Verbalizing and Seeing Stars
LETRS – Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling
Co-Teaching for Exceptional Students
Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Responsive Classroom
My mission is to create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me!
