KRSD Social Workers Vision Statement
We are seven towns, seven schools, and one district — united by a commitment to educational equity, community partnership, and the development of learners who are prepared to lead lives of purpose and compassion.
Rooted in the core principles of social work, our district partners with families and the broader community to nurture learners who:
Advance human well-being and help meet basic human needs, especially for those who are vulnerable, marginalized, or living in poverty.
Understand the interdependence between individual well-being and the health of communities and society at large.
Act as compassionate, ethical, and engaged citizens, committed to collective care and mutual support.
Embrace and honor others, recognizing their strengths.
Advocate for social justice, to support an inclusive and respectful school community.
Are equipped to analyze and respond to the social, environmental, and institutional forces that shape people’s lives and opportunities.
Foster collaborative relationships while cultivating their own sense of agency and self-determination.
Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and a lifelong commitment to growth, healing, and learning.
Our work is guided by the ethical foundation of the social work profession, which informs how we teach, lead, partner, and grow together:
Service – We act to serve the common good and respond to community needs with purpose and humility.
Social Justice – We are committed to dismantling barriers to equity and standing with those impacted by injustice.
Dignity and Worth of Every Person – We affirm the value of every individual, recognizing their inherent strengths, voice, and potential.
Importance of Human Relationships – We build authentic, trusting relationships as the foundation for learning and transformation.
Integrity – We operate with transparency, honesty, and ethical accountability in all we do.
Competence – We strive for excellence through reflective practice, cultural responsiveness, and continuous learning.
