GRADING - In first grade we “grade” papers. If you notice a 1, 2 or 3 (occasionally a 4) at the top of your child’s paper it will give you an idea how they did on that particular assignment. A “one” will indicate that your child needs more time to understand that particular skill. A “two” will tell that your child had a good understanding of the skill with some adult help. A “three” will tell you that your child was mostly independent on that assignment. A “four” will indicate that your child independently completed the assignment and is capable of teaching the material to others. This is given occasionally but not often.
