The purpose of the Blizzard Bag program is to allow students to complete up to five emergency days through Learning online/Blizzard Bag lesson plans. These days will count as "traditional" school days.
On Blizzard Bag Days, you will receive a phone call from our rapid notification system letting you know that we do not have school and that we are going to do Blizzard Bag work. Please remember that it is a school day away from school--maybe at home, at daycare, or at a friend’s house.
You will log into the Google Meet on the Google Classroom Home Page.
Schedule: Please do not join Meet ahead of time. Students will be unsupervised.
8:30 Morning Meeting- Students will meet with me and do a morning check in. I will go over the assignments for the day. I will also do a little morning share time.
This is not a mandatory meeting. Your student will still be marked present for the day if they miss this and still turn in their work.
9:00 Independent work time starts
All work and materials will be in Google Classroom or in the folders sent home.
I will be available to answer questions on our Google Meet that will be left open from this morning.
Students are expected to complete math, literacy, either social studies or science and their Unified Art for the day.
12:30-3:00- Teacher Office Hours
I will be available for any questions or help as needed. I will not be online in a Google Meet. You will need to email me so I can come to the meeting.
Your student will need the materials that were sent home today. I will be taking attendance for the day. This will be done by completing the work online or returning the completed papers to school the following day. Please make sure everything is returned the next day.
If you have any questions about your schoolwork or anything else, please email me. My email address is edowns@kearsarge.org. I will check my email regularly throughout the day.
