ABOUT THE COURSE

I am excited to get this class going this year as we'll be using NGL's MindTap with SAM to explore Office 365 as well as the desktop versions of Office. SAM (Skills Assessment Manager) is a web-based application that helps students become more proficient in Microsoft Office® software and teaches fundamental computer concepts. We will use SAM to learn how to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access on a Windows computer. MindTap is the other online portion of the program that will allow me a lot of flexibility and independence in how the class is structured. Although I have a lot of experience with many of these programs, I will be much more of a facilitator and learn right alongside the student.

Throughout the first semester of the course we will focus a little on each program and then spend some additional time with Excel, Office & 365 OneDrive in the second semester.

The cool part about this curriculum is that is very comprehensive and can be taught in so many ways.

Google Classroom has been set up as our single sign in page, so this is where students will connect.

-additional information will be placed here as needed. Students should always follow along on Google Classroom as that's where assignment information will be regularly posted. Grades in SAM/MindTAP are NOT the official grade. Graded work will be posted in PowerSchool.
