No more than 4 total “F” grades on report cards for each school year 6-8 while at CPMS. This means a
maximum of 4 total in 6th grade, 4 total in 7th grade, and 4 total for 8th grade on the report cards for each grade
level. Five or more total “F” grades in any grade level will make a student NOT eligible for promotion. This
standard will start for the 2019-20 school year going forward. Grades prior to the 2019-20 school year will not
be used and students will not have to make them up.
Students who earn an “F” grade in any class will need to attend an extended learning class either after school or
during summer school or possibly both to earn a passing grade of D or better for every “F” grade earned beyond
the 4 total that are allowed in each grade level.
In order to replace the “F” grade during one of the extended learning sessions (after school or summer school
classes) students must:
A. Make adequate academic progress as measured by district assessments or teacher evaluation
B. Have regular and consistent attendance with only excused absences for legitimate reasons.
Attend and complete a session for each F grade. One session cannot be used to make up multiple “F” grades.
Sessions are one quarter long for after school (possible to make up 3 in one school year if you do 3 quarters) and
one class period long for the summer session (Possible to make up 1-2 during summer session.)
No major suspensions (5 days) during the 4th Quarter.
No school related offense of any kind involving a controlled substance or alcohol during the school year. Administration may offer restorative justice options for one time offenders at the discretion of the principal
