Double the music, double the pride! Our school’s String Orchestra and Wind Orchestra both won the New Taipei City Musical Award this year. Each orchestra impressed the judges with a unique performance. The String Orchestra played with a more aggressive style, showing their ambition and strong character. The Wind Orchestra stood out with Toy Box, using musical instruments to create special sound effects to tell a lively, imaginative story.
“We had tears of joy seeing them shine on stage, knowing how uneasy it is,” said Ms. Cheng, coordinator of the after-school center. Unlike other schools that can practice every day, our students make the most of their limited time, rehearsing during club time and two evenings each week. They even use part of their vacations for extra practice. In the end, their persistence and passion paid off. Let’s give our musicians a big round of applause!

Have you ever wondered how to handle your feelings when school life gets overwhelming? In December, the CyberFair Club launched the Emotion Station to help students with their inner state. Ms. Patty, the CyberFair Club teacher, explained, “We created this event so that students can recognize their own emotions, notice others’ feelings, and find ways to cope with them.”
One of the highlights was a specially designed board game, Emotion Quest, which presented real-life scenarios, encouraging students to reflect on how they managed their feelings and how they could improve. Another popular session, Accountable Talk, offered a safe space for students to share their true thoughts without hurting others. “The Emotion Station can also be a place for students to stay calm while feeling off,” said one club member. Through these experiences, students took small but meaningful steps toward understanding themselves better.
