For this semester’s Grade 3 KCFS project, Green Battery, students are building a simple circuit. A simple circuit is like a tiny road for electricity to travel. It has four main parts: a battery, wire, a light bulb, and a switch. The battery gives power, the wire carries the electricity, and the lightbulb lights up when everything is connected and the switch is on. If the switch is off, the electricity stops, and the light turns off.
Look at the picture of the simple circuit and answer the questions below.
Circle T if the statement is true and F if it is false.
1.A circuit needs a power source (battery) to work. ( T / F )
2.A lightbulb is used to show that the electricity is flowing. ( T / F )
3.If the switch is on, the lightbulb will shine. ( T / F )
4.If you cut the wire, the lightbulb will still shine. ( T / F )
Students from all grades are invited to take their answers to their KCFS teachers for a cool prize.
