Every year around Children’s Day at Kang Chiao, students get excited and prepare for a huge upcoming event, the Little Ironman Competition! Even though it is tiring and takes lots of practice, students still enjoy it as it is a unique event that is only held at Kang Chiao. When they run through the finish line, they receive a completion certificate. It’s a moment that gives students accomplishments and makes them be proud of themselves. It also helps students with their determination and cultivates their sportsmanship. Ethan from 608 recalled when he ran out of energy to run, he said to himself, "Keep going! Don’t give up!" Congratulations 6th graders! Hold the spirit you get from here and be a real Ironman to complete and enjoy your next challenge!

Can you imagine that students are able to take control of and responsibility for their own learning, even in first grade? This is happening at Kang Chiao. Students get to make choices and explore their own interests. "Qingshan Time combines our thinking, our hand-made skills, and our own style of designing," said Estella from 608. She also mentioned those fun memories kept running around her mind and reminded her of the feelings of wanting to learn more about her topics. Qingshan Time also gave Vincent, from 601, a chance to study chemistry and do experiments about it. Students are really grateful about Kang Chiao having this project. They learned a lot that is not in the textbooks. Keep learning and be creative, grade 6 students!

You might be surprised to see a big airplane on campus and wonder why it’s there. "When I first came to Kang Chiao, the first thing that attracted me was the English Village, because it’s so special and realistic," said Valerie from 604. "I like this course because I can learn many life situations that we will all face later," added Xenia. Not only does school provide useful lessons, but it also prepares students for interesting activities. Students have lots of fun there and can’t wait to spend their Kang Chiao money in the break time! Grade 6 students will surely remember the pleasant time they flew with KCIS Airlines! Farewell and good luck!

Adventure education doesn’t just allow you to climb the gigantic wall. It is full of wonderful adventures, like Kayla from 604 said, "Gliding down a zip line or climbing a ginormous ladder really made me conquer my fear of heights". "Adventure class is such a special course that you can only have in KCIS, and it also let me know about the importance of teamwork. It’s the only subject that doesn't have exams, so I can just play and relax all the way," explained Ebby from 604. No wonder this is one of the most unforgettable courses at Kang Chiao. Be an adventurer, there is more to explore in the future!

"Digital learning at KCIS equips us with computer skills and provides us more opportunities for work in the future," Alvin from 603 explained why digital learning made Kang Chiao so unique. The 6th graders can easily recall the most useful apps they had when learning with their very own Chromebook. Anna from 603 mentioned, "Google Slides helped me the most. It allows my audience to understand lots of things." Bella from 601 remarked, "TinkerCAD inspires me to design more things, because it gives me more ideas." A survey of grade 6 students' digital learning shows that more than 50% of students think Blooket is the most useful app and about 60% of students even consider it their favorite because it provides a fun and easy way to review their work. Our grade 6 students expect to explore more with their digital skills in the future!
