All students did an amazing job at the Interclass competition. Karlie Chen and Yvonne Liu, the first place team from grade three, read an interesting story “Catch It and Run!” and made it into a drama. They remembered the day on stage, “At the beginning, we were nervous, but then we pretended we were presenting to rocks.” It was also the first time the first graders had to sing in front of the class, even the whole grade! They practiced songs everywhere at any time and used their imagination to create interesting steps into their song, which made the singing competition even more exciting! They overcame their fear and shyness, and the most important part is they had fun and worked hard to get on the very stage the winners stood on. If everyone tries their best and enjoys the competition, even though they are not the first place, they are still winners, too!

On the 5th floor near the principal's office, Dinnes, the assistant director from DSA, collected leftover red envelopes from teachers and used them to make fish, fans, and lanterns. “Kang Chiao students learn two languages, Chinese and English, but they mostly know the western cultures and holidays like Christmas and Halloween. It would be better if they have an area to learn about Chinese cultures.” he said. There are also posters showing the origins and histories of Chinese festivals throughout the year. Take a look there and you might find something interesting!

Ms. Mina, the 106 homeroom teacher, is nice and humorous, and she tells interesting stories in class. The students are all cute in her eyes. She encourages students to ask questions, so she knows how to help them. “I enjoy being a teacher because it’s important to teach students good values and give them a happy childhood.” she said. Stop by and have a talk with Ms. Mina. I bet you’ll like her as well.
