Horseshoe Crab Training

Students at Kang Chiao International School - Hsinchu Campus, who went to iOcean, National Museum of Marine Science & Technology Keelung.

The students learned about how to take care of horseshoe crabs and gained a deeper understanding of the marine life surrounding Taiwan. During the lesson, they explored the unique characteristics of the horseshoe crab, including its habitat, behavior, and the important role it plays in the ecosystem. 

They also studied the different body parts of the horseshoe crab, learning to identify each section and understand its function. In addition, the students practiced distinguishing between male and female horseshoe crabs by observing key physical differences. Overall, the experience helped them appreciate both the delicate balance of marine environments and the responsibility humans have in protecting these ancient creatures.
